Brand Strategy & Creative Lead | Girl Guides of Canada  (2019 – present)

Within a small marketing and communications department, Nuala applied her strategic, marketing and creative skills to reposition this icon brand in order to create brand relevance with a focus on membership acquisition within Canada’s diverse cultural landscape. All strategic and marketing plans were set to launch in June 2020. Due to COVID-19, all plans were put on hold.

 

Managing Director, Executive Creative Director  | Geometry Global  (2018 – 2019)

Embarked on a blended role, bringing her marketing, creative, strategic, and business strengths together in leading the client and creative teams, managing Canadian operations, and pursuing new business.

 

EVP, Executive Creative Director | Ogilvy / Geometry Global  (2011 – 2018)

Created brand strategy, marketing and activation plans for brands such as Danone, UbyKotex, Huggies, Kleenex, S.C. Johnson, Dove Self-Esteem Program, GSK, Colgate, Gruppo Campari, Mark Anthony Wines, ALDO, and pro bono work for Mercy Ships, a non-profit charity.

 

Owner, Executive Creative Director | Garage Communication + Design Inc.  (2003 – 2011)

Consultant and freelance strategic and creative leadership, managing and mentoring integrated teams for agencies such as Segal Communications, Capital C and Marketing Core. Working on brands such as Cineplex, SCENE, Scotiabank, Nestlé, Coca-Cola, Andrew Peller Estates, Sony PlayStation, Virgin Mobile, Unilever, Dove, Ben & Jerry’s, Breyers, AXE, Degree, Hellmann’s, and Vaseline.

 

VP, Creative Director | BBDO/Proximity Canada (1998 – 2003)

Led a cross-functional team, delivering integrated and strategically focused retail promotions, events, PR, and brand activation for clients such as Famous Players, Alliance Entertainment, Pepsi-Cola, Pizza Hut, KFC, Ontario Lottery Corp., Cadillac Fairview, and the Eaton Centre.

 

Partner, Creative Director | Metaphor Design & Communications Inc. (1990 – 1998)

Launched and ran this entertainment agency specialized in design, package design, brand design, retail promotions, events, and brand activation. Clients included Labatt, Molson Breweries, Pepsi-Cola, Effem Foods, Sony Music, BMG, Virgin, Warner Music, Roy Thomson & Massey Hall, and the Juno Awards. Metaphor was acquired by BBDO/Proximity Canada in 1998.
